“It’s a really, really unusual Batman story, and it almost seems harder for me to imagine it being a series after [sic]”, Pattinson previously explained while alluding to the long-held belief that The Batman would set up one or more sequels. “I mean, they always have this little bit at the end, it’s like, ‘…and coming!’ But other than that, it’s oddly personal. I think people will be quite shocked at how different it is.”

“I did kind of a map where Bruce’s psychology would develop over two more movies,” he also noted. “I would love to do that.” The Batman Producer Dylan Clark also spoke about his hopes for another film at the time, saying, “As the first standalone film Batman In 10 years, the hope is that we can lay the foundations on which you can build stories.”

Reeves has also previously discussed sequel plans, though he also made it clear that he wants to keep his focus firmly on the first film before looking too far ahead. “I really believe in what we’ve done and I’d love to tell more stories. We started talking about another movie, but, you know, right now we’re going to release it to the world and I ‘ I’ll try to appreciate that. I mean, look, you don’t do number one like there’s gonna be number two. You have to do number one like you’re swinging at the fences and that has to to be a film that stands and lives on its own.”

The Batman is now on HBO Max and available for purchase on digital platforms. The film arrives on Blu-ray, 4K UHD and DVD on May 24.
