Bruce Campbell, Devon Sawa Movie Gets January DVD, Blu-ray Release

Released in theaters November 19 and on VOD November 23, the horror comedy from director Casey Tebo Black Friday is now configured to reach DVD and Blu-ray on January 4the – and Amazon takes pre-orders!

Written by Andy Greskoviak, Black friday has the following summary:

On the busiest shopping night of the year, a group of disgruntled toy store employees must defend themselves against legions of holiday shoppers when a mysterious alien parasite turns them into monstrous creatures doomed to a murderous outburst.

The film stars Devon Sawa (Inactive hands), Bruce Campbell (Diabolical death), Michael Jai White (Black dynamite), Ivana Baquero (Pan’s Labyrinth), Ryan Lee (Goose bumps) and Stephen Peck (The night has only just begun).

Tebo said this about the movie:

When Andy sent me this script, it was so awesome! It reminded me of some of my favorite vacation horror movies like Gremlins Where Krampus. I saw myself running until midnight to see this with other horror fans, and at the same time, I could see my kids watching it at a sleepover with their friends. It’s imaginative, quirky, scary, fun and the right amount of ridiculous – and that’s all I want to see in a movie!

Black friday was produced by MFW Productions and Warner Davis of the Warner Davis Company.

This movie wasn’t as great as I hoped (you can read my 6/10 review HERE), but I feel compelled to watch it again and might end up owning a copy just because it stars Bruce Campbell (as a character very different from evil Dead hero Ash).

Will you be ordering a copy of Black friday? If you’ve seen the movie, let us know what you thought of it by leaving a comment below.
