Corey Stoll responded to rumors of his return as Yellowjacket in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
One of the most anticipated new films in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third film centered around one of Marvel’s most unique heroes. The upcoming film is expected to expand the MCU in more than one way, including Jonathan Majors’ involvement as Kang the Conqueror, who was first teased in the season finale of Loki. However, one of the more interesting rumors regarding the upcoming film is the possible return of Corey Stoll as Darren Cross AKA Yellowjacket.
Corey Stoll portrayed Yellowjacket in the first The ant Man film, serving as the main antagonist to Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. The last time we saw him, he faced off against the titular hero in young Cassie Lang’s bedroom. Scott shrinks to a subatomic size to fit into Yellowjacket’s costume, causing him to shrink uncontrollably, presumably until he disappears.
Given the possibility of his return, Inverse asked Corey Stoll whether or not he’ll be back in the MCU as the Yellowjacket anytime soon. While promoting The many saints of Newark, the actor played shyly.
âI can’t answer, sorry. There is simply no percentage of me who answers all of this.
The Quantum Realm proved to be an instrumental piece of the MCU, having been used for much of the action in Avengers: Endgame. Given the title of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, we’ll definitely explore that further, and that leaves the possibility of seeing Corey Stoll again as Yellowjacket. In the meantime, we only have fan speculation and theories until we get official confirmation.
Ant-Man and the Wasp were last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Here’s the official plot synopsis for the Marvel Studios movie:
