Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey Stars’ New Horror Film

The first trailer for the upcoming horror thriller Barbarians has been released, and it’s safe to say that it will keep you from moving to the countryside…and double dating.

Iwan Rheon, best known for his role as Ramsay Bolton in game of throneshas partnered with Downton AbbeyAnthony Foyle (aka Viscount Gillingham) actor Tom Cullen for this chilling tale of an idyllic dinner party that descends into their worst nightmare.

Taking place over 24 hours, the film centers on two couples; Tom as Lucas with his on-screen wife Chloé (Inès Spiridonov) and Iwan as Adam with Eva (Catalina Sandino Moreno).

Adam and Eva wake up in their dream country house on Adam’s birthday, whom they repeatedly say they love. Their friend Lucas, a real estate agent, and Chloe arrive to celebrate their new beginning.

Table manners are quickly forgotten and the evening descends into madness as Adam slaps Tom across the face to the shock of everyone else at the table.

However, a knock on the door leads to a deadly home invasion by attackers, who look like The purgeare hidden in skull masks as they tie up and torment the four unsuspecting party members.

The terrifying trailer shows flashes of murder, betrayal and mayhem as the couple’s lives unravel and the dream house leads to their worst bloody nightmares.

This is Charles Dorfman’s debut as a writer and director, having produced notable films such as Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut, The lost girl.

The film is set to be released in the US in cinemas and on demand on April 1, but the UK release date is yet to be confirmed.

game of thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Spin off Dragon House is currently filming and will premiere in 2022.
