All cookbooks will be on sale for half price through Tuesday, March 22 at the Skidompha Used Book Store in downtown Damariscotta.
According to Rosie Bensen, co-manager of the store, “We have about 300 cookbooks for sale. So whatever a person likes to cook, there’s probably a cookbook for it. Even people who don’t like to cook might find something just right for those times when they have to cook anyway. And some cookbooks are just plain fun to read.
The bookstore, located at 17 Backstreet Landing, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Along with hardcover and paperback books in dozens of categories, the store offers music on CDs and records; films on DVDs and video tapes; audio books; and puzzles. All items are donated, all staff are volunteers, and all proceeds support Skidompha Public Library programs and collections.
Donors are invited to drop off books and other objects from Monday to Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Thursday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.; and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Currently, volunteers would particularly appreciate donations of vinyl records, especially in the popular category of classic rock.
