Currently there are many options for watching “Independence Day: Resurgence”, but unfortunately none of them is a streaming platform. While the original film, “Independence Day,” is available to stream on HBO Max, it looks like its sequel isn’t streaming anywhere at the moment, although that could easily change at any time. Both movies were distributed by 20th Century Fox, so the place you’re most likely to see the movie appear is either Disney + or Hulu, as Disney now has the rights after you buy Fox.
But if you can’t wait that long to experience “Independence Day: Resurgence”, there are many different places where you can rent or buy the movie. You can find the film on Amazon Video for $ 3.99 to rent and $ 14.99 to buy, while iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, Microsoft Store, AMC on Demand, VUDU, and many more all offer the movie at similar prices. Rentals are generally for a period of 30 days, but once you start watching the movie you have 48 hours after that to complete it before it is removed from your account. If you want the option of having a physical copy that you can watch as many times as you want, you can always buy the DVD or Blu-Ray, which usually cost around $ 10-20 or so new, but if you go for the occasion, it’s less than $ 5. Amazon even offers the film in 3D, and the physical version often comes with a digital copy these days as well.
While streaming is arguably the preferred way to watch movies these days, it looks like “Independence Day: Resurgence” fans might have to wait a bit before it’s possible. In the meantime, there are plenty of other viewing options if you want to experience the sequel to “Independence Day” today.
