Ser Criston Cole star Fabien Frankel has broken down the ‘awkward’ sex scene in Dragon House episode 4.
Featuring Rhaenyra Targaryen star Milly Alcock, the scene in question features the two engaging in the intimate act after Rhaenyra returns from a hectic trip around town with his uncle.
Now Frankel has revealed that the scene took more than seven months of preparation and meetings with a intimacy coordinator and director Clare Kilner.

“It’s something we talked about for seven months. It was one of the first things I really wanted to talk about,” Frankel said. Weekly entertainment.
“I just remember texts, phone calls, meetings between Clare, myself, Milly and our intimacy coordinator,” he said.
He told the publication that an important part of filming the scene was making sure it wasn’t a typical TV sex scene.
“The most important thing to me is that it doesn’t feel like another gratuitous, back-sweating sex scene, because it’s just not like that,” he shared.

The actor was keen to bring some realism to the scene, describing real sex as something “awkward” that “isn’t beautiful”.
“Anyone who’s ever had sex will tell you that sex isn’t that beautiful. It’s not something quaint and amazing. It’s embarrassing, especially when you’re young.
“There’s an discomfort to sit in, and there’s a discovery and understanding of each other’s bodies – not to mention the practicality of it all.”
Small details like how long it took to take off his armor were important to the star: “It’s all the stuff that really cared about me, because it takes away those kind of archaic sexual sex scenes, in my opinion. , which have been around for so long on TV and in movies, and make it feel real and what it would be.”
