Redbox adds new digital signs on kiosks to better promote its free streaming service

Most people are familiar with Redbox and its DVD rental kiosks dotted around outside grocery and convenience stores, but its free digital streaming service offering isn’t as well known. Redbox has partnered with Velocity to help change that by placing new digital signage on 4,000 of its red kiosks to help promote the free streaming service, as well as new movie releases and more.

In addition to self-promotion, the new brands will provide advertising opportunities for national and hyper-local media campaigns that will be seen by millions of consumers in high traffic locations.

“The addition of Velocity Displays gives us a powerful new way to promote new titles with our content partners, including all major Hollywood studios, as well as provide brands and studios with a uniquely customizable out-of-home campaign,” while promoting our free streaming service and Redbox Entertainment Originals in high traffic locations, ”said Galen Smith, CEO of Redbox. “We’ve already had success with the displays we’ve tested to date, and we’re excited to see this evolve quickly and potentially become additional kiosks in the future. “

“Velocity has been very bullish on the retail industry and is continually looking for additional partnerships to grow within the industry. We are proud to partner with Redbox to provide an industry-leading digital signage solution to enhance and elevate existing Redbox kiosks, ”said Greg Kiley, President and CEO of Velocity. “Redbox is a formidable presence in the retail space, particularly in national grocery stores. We look forward to helping Redbox expand their advertising capabilities.
