Speeding

Ivan Martino, 28, of the 600 block of Equestrian Drive, Wheeling, was charged on August 25 with going over 64mph in a 35mph zone on the 7300 block of West Dempster Street, police said. A court date is set for September 27.

Majeed Syed, 34, of the 4100 block of Keeler Avenue, Chicago, was charged Aug. 30 with exceeding 64 mph in a 35 mph zone on the 8800 block of North Greenwood Street, police said. A court date is set for October 4.

Omari Sidra, 21, of the 7400 block of Dempster Street, Morton Grove, was charged on August 30 with going over 63mph in a 35mph zone on the 7300 block of Dempster Street, police said. A hearing date is set for September 19.

Dontae Wilson, 29, of the 3900 block of Wilcox Avenue, Chicago, was charged Aug. 25 with driving with a suspended driver’s license after she was seen driving with tinted side windows and violating the traffic rules at the intersection of Harlem and Jonquil streets, police said. . Marcus Franklin, 32, of the 900 block of Maple Avenue, Evanston, was charged Aug. 29 with removing a DVD player and leaving the Golf Road Walmart with this item and several others in his backpack, a announced the police.

A complainant said Aug. 30 that she received multiple emails from Bank of America saying an account approval was in progress, but a stranger had opened the account using the complainant’s personal information, police said.

Stephen Adams, 28, of the 8000 block of Lyons Avenue, Niles, was charged Aug. 30 with possession of cannabis in the 9200 block of Hamilton Court, police said.

Fraud

On August 25, a complainant said an unknown person called and said they were with Amazon and were delivering an iPad and headphones when the victim had not ordered those items. The attacker then said that the victim would have to pay $8,000 to avoid appearing involved in money laundering and asked the victim to send $16,000 via wire transfer and another $34,700 in Bitcoin, a said the police.
