The Big Bang Theory star will return in the final new role of Young Sheldon

Young Sheldon will welcome one of the stars of The Big Bang Theory in a different role.

The prequel spin-off focused on young Sheldon Cooper will see magician duo Penn and Teller as guests in an upcoming episode, where they’ll play skin duo Acne and Pus (you can watch a preview via TVLine).

Teller had previously appeared on The Big Bang Theory as Amy Farrah Fowler’s (Mayim Bialik) father and Sheldon’s own stepfather.

In an episode aptly titled “A Clogged Pore, A Bit of Spanish, and the Future,” 12-year-old Sheldon (Iain Armitage) will have to go through puberty and all that goes with it, pimples included.

When he gets his first pimple (a stage of puberty, so to speak), the protagonist will receive Penn and Teller’s puberty recap as Acne vulgaris and his silent sidekick Pus respectively.

“We thought it was a fun idea to personify the pimple, so we thought about who would be good for acne vulgaris,” Young Sheldon co-creator Steve Molaro said TVLine.

“When we landed on Penn it seemed so perfect, and it’s hard not to think of Teller when you think of Penn. Once Penn agreed to do it, we circled around saying, ‘How would you feel doing it together, like acne and pus?’ They were very enthusiastic and it was a pleasure to work with them from start to finish,” he added.

Young Sheldon airs on CBS in the US and also airs in the UK on E4. The Big Bang Theory aired on SCS in the USA. You can buy the full set now at DVD and Blu-Ray.
